RP Eye Patients Support Institute (a public, non-governmental and non-profit organization) was established in 2013 with the registration number 14152 with the aim of providing diagnostic and therapeutic services along with financial and social support to this group of patients. During the last few years, with the efforts of those involved in this matter, more than 6,600 RP patients of different ages have been identified, which is considered the first and only RP institution of this kind in Iran.

Retinitis Pigmentosa(RP), refers to a group of hereditary diseases of the retina that cause progressive and gradual loss of vision. It usually starts with night vision problems and worsens at young ages, and after that, the field of vision becomes limited, and in the next stage, the direct and central vision of the patient decreases and eventually can cause blindness.
